Video "Our Land Our Life" about Mary and Carrie Dann

The case of Carrie and Mary Dann v United States is often cited in discussions about the Inter-American system dealing with indigenous issues. At issue was ownership and use of land, and the location of gold—a somewhat perennial occurrence in the taking of indigenous lands in the United States—on the land in question. I will write further on this case during the week, but in the meantime, a very insightful video called “Our Land Our Life “ documentary gives voice to the Dann sisters, and their struggle, and how they took their issue and claims onwards to the United Nations.
